Vocation
Set up in
1985 by Pierre Lasnier, MétéoMer studies and forecasts
meteorological and oceanographic conditions world wide, useful for a varietyof
maritime activities such as offshore oil exploration and production (drilling,
field developpment), maritime engeneering (shipyard, ports etc.) maritime
transport and trans-oceanic races.
MétéoMer has specialised know-how in the
following range of services:
- Accurate shipping
forecasts for sensitive operations : raising of special loads, pipe laying,
drilling operations, routing of towed structures ...
- In-situ measurements
: waves, current, tide, wind ...,
- Measurements of
movements of barges or towed structures
- Metorological and
oceanographic studies of specific sites : statistics, extremes conditions,
reconstitutions of particular events, counting of events
- Production of a
unique world climate atlas established entirely on the basis of satellite data
